We have just returned from a 6 week stay in the USA, the first 16 days spent travelling 66 from LA to Chicago. We found your book at Santa Monica Pier (were going to rely on a laminated map and a HEMA book) but your guide was a godsend. We also purchased the Food and Lodging Guide which was also great. Only had a couple of hiccups during the whole trip one of which was a typo about leaving St. Louis and the exit number. Sorted that out and it was all plane sailing. We had a great time on the road, the weather was great and we met some wonderful people. Thanks Jerry you were a life saver!

Hi, just got home from R66 and your book was very helpfull. Our problem was that we didn't invent a way to place maps on motorcycles, but during last two days I took the binder away and took main maps to map bag which I tied with cable ties to cables. We traced obedient R66 and book's roads, spend some 9-12 hours daily on bikes and got 3100 miles :) Many times we got lost but only once (I think) cause of the book. Please check after San Bernadino (Arcadia), there are Colorado street and Foothill bulevard and Colorado was the northern in the map. In reality it is south from Foothill. We got to the South Pasadena which actually was a shortcut to 110 :)
Thank you a lot, excellent book!
(McJerry's note: They misread a part of Ca Map #4, which I will admit I could make a bit clearer, and will do so! I had the streets in the proper relation, though.)

Hi Jerry, just looking back on the trip of the PT Cruisers from Oregon went on the the 66 trip in 2009. Also hearing about the damage in Joplin, MO. My heart goes out to them. Still would like to head out on the road again. We have talked about taking the Linclon Hwy. Not sure when that could happen. Route 66 would be more doable. Take care and keep up the great work, Your friends in Oregon. Allan

Mothers' Day, my wife and I (from Brooklyn, New York) were in Santa Fe, New Mexico and drove to the bottom of La Bajada Hill. We hiked (sorry we didn't have a high clearance vehicle) up and then back down-obviously. We were inspired by the dvd "Bones of the Old Road." Still on an absolute high and couldn't think of a better Mothers' Day gift.

Hi Jerry,
Finally our trip is getting closer with just under 4 weeks to go till we leave Australia for our 5 week trip from New York to Chicago to LA via Route66. Have your book and also GPS with route 66 on it. Have done heaps of research just not sure on driving through those large cities, but I suppose we will manage. Has anyone got tips on best hotels to stay at?

Hello Jerry, I finally remembered to look for your website and to drop a line. I'm from Central NY and I traveled last summer from May 16th-to about-Jun 20. I was able to drive all of Route 66 to California using your amazing guide. I also had the pleasure of meeting you in your living you along with others and we discussed the routes history and I saw your painting. I was so glad you signed my book and map from the dvd collection. I currently have it framed on my wall surrounded by post cards, newspaper clippings, business cards and other memorabilia from my trip. I did not know much before my trip about route 66, just that I wanted to find it and travel it someday. While using your amazing guide my goal was accomplished and it was the most incredible trip I've ever taken and will remember it for the rest of my life. That road got inside of me just like you said it would on your dvd interviews. I need to go back. I miss it already, every part of it. I am shocked to read your news and see how many things are closing. I was disappointed to hear about the launching pad drive thru. I had a wonderful meal and milkshake there and loved the giant, luckily I took lots of pictures. It's a shame that so many people can't see the importance and history of this road across this great country. It should be preserved like a Smithsonian museum as part of Americana and shown to as many people that can see it. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have traveled it and I hope to many more times in my life when I can. That road is calling me. Good luck with your wonderful paintings and I will keep up to date with your news bulletins. Thanks for doing so much for something that needs so much love!

Hey jerry, I'm semi-retired and planning on going on Route 66 in April on my motorcycle. I hear some parts of the road are brutal. I was thinking of traveling from St. Louis (I'm from Fla.) to Los Angeles. Any advice (besides getting your book) for me? Hope to see you. Thanks! Sean

Jerry I just want you to know that my wife Christel and I had great fun driving Route 66 last November. EZ66 was very helpful and with the Navigator in our white Caddie we did not miss more than a few miles all together. This was our way of celebrating 40 years of marriage. We were very well received at Munger Moss Motel, where we stayed in room #66(!). We were told that you were to arrive on the day of our departure (6 Nov) but the landlady understood that we had to drive on. It would have been nice to see you in person.
It is about time now to organize all photos and the like in order to remember it all. The film in my videocamera has been cut and transformed into a DVD, so we can sit back, watch and relax. We tried a wigwam in Holbrook, the Lodge on Route66 in Williams, a train to Grand Canyon on Veterans Day (trainrobbery on the way back, very funny), but also The Excalibur in Las Vegas and a David Copperfield show on our anniversary. No luck with the machines. By the way we were shown the neon-sign in action already on the evening before your meeting. Need I say that we are two very satisfied Swedes who had the pleasure of nice weather from Chicago all the way to LA?!
