Hi Jerry! Planning a R66 trip for sometime in the near future. Your book is fantastic, and I know it'll be a lifesaver. Do you know of any Guinness World Records that have to do with 66?

Hi Jerry!

Thanks so much for the EZ guide- it's been a lifesaver, especially in the more confusing cities we've passed through (started in Chicago 6/6, currently in Tucumcari)- I just have a bit of a warning for future (or current) 66ers. The ghost town of Jericho in Texas is on private property and the Sheriff was notified when we stopped to take pictures. He let us go with a warning (along with other 66ers that also coincidentally stopped for the photo-op when we did). It was really cool, but not worth the trouble.

From the Mother Road-

Hello Jerry,
I have just found your sight and wanted to thank you so much for your EZ66 book! We are Australians and my husband and I have just this week returned home from our big American adventure.
We decided to drive as much of Route66 as we possibly could and your book helped us immensely. We loved getting out into your countryside, away from the freeways and because we got lost a lot, we got to meet so many lovely people who helped us along the way.
In Australia we tend to hear more about your TV and filmstars, and politicians, this was my first time to America, and I was amazed at the beauty of your country, the way the scenery changes from state to state, I think , by doing this big roadtrip, we were able to meet so many more wonderful people, and see such fantastic sights, that we would never have seen on a guided tour. We have had the trip of a lifetime! We would have had a much harder time, staying on track without your help, your book was the first thing in the car each day!!
So thankyou again, Marilyn and Lee Walker.

Hi Jerry, My wife and I and a friend just returned from finishing Route 66 from Joplin to Santa Monica-went through Joplin on Fri 5/20/11 before the tornado, and called you in Chandler, but you were out with your dad for the day. My question is what can you tell me about the neon sign over the Gallup NM chamber of commerce (Here we are on Route 66) sign - who made it, and how did it come about? Although some of the neon is out, I got a very COOL night photo of what is left. You likely already have a photo of it, but if not, I can forward it if you have a means for me to transfer the jpg file. Also, while in Tucumcari, we visited the Blue Swallow Motel and learned that in addition to the murals on the outside of the building, there are also paintings on the inside of at least two of the garages. Thanks for all your efforts to share your knowledge of a great piece of American history.

We have just returned from a 6 week stay in the USA, the first 16 days spent travelling 66 from LA to Chicago. We found your book at Santa Monica Pier (were going to rely on a laminated map and a HEMA book) but your guide was a godsend. We also purchased the Food and Lodging Guide which was also great. Only had a couple of hiccups during the whole trip one of which was a typo about leaving St. Louis and the exit number. Sorted that out and it was all plane sailing. We had a great time on the road, the weather was great and we met some wonderful people. Thanks Jerry you were a life saver!

Hi, just got home from R66 and your book was very helpfull. Our problem was that we didn't invent a way to place maps on motorcycles, but during last two days I took the binder away and took main maps to map bag which I tied with cable ties to cables. We traced obedient R66 and book's roads, spend some 9-12 hours daily on bikes and got 3100 miles :) Many times we got lost but only once (I think) cause of the book. Please check after San Bernadino (Arcadia), there are Colorado street and Foothill bulevard and Colorado was the northern in the map. In reality it is south from Foothill. We got to the South Pasadena which actually was a shortcut to 110 :)

Thank you a lot, excellent book!

(McJerry's note: They misread a part of Ca Map #4, which I will admit I could make a bit clearer, and will do so! I had the streets in the proper relation, though.)

Hi Jerry, just looking back on the trip of the PT Cruisers from Oregon went on the the 66 trip in 2009. Also hearing about the damage in Joplin, MO. My heart goes out to them. Still would like to head out on the road again. We have talked about taking the Linclon Hwy. Not sure when that could happen. Route 66 would be more doable. Take care and keep up the great work, Your friends in Oregon. Allan
