Jerry thanks for signing your new book today for me. Sorry you were feeling poorly with a fever. It was fun to see you again and to have met Shellee and Jim earlier in the day at the rummage sale at the Round Barn. Take care. Lots of chicken noodle soup!

Howdy! I'm about to make my second 66 trip. The first was in 1963. This should be a LOT of fun. Thanks for your efforts...

Hi Jerry,

Sorry we missed you today but it was great chatting with you on the phone. Your book is proving to be invaluable to us as we traverse the Mother Road, I can't imagine how we would have done the trip without it!

Hi Jerry,

We have been having a GREAT time checking out Route 66! Your book has been a life saver! Unfortunately, we are going to have to wait until next spring/summer to finish the route. We just returned from the Illinois portion, having already driven the route thru Missouri and Oklahoma.

We did not see it mentioned here, but the Coliseum Ballroom outside of Benld, Illinois, has burned, unfortunately. The damage appeared somewhat fresh. As other folks have mentioned on here, these treasures of the past won't always be around for everyone to enjoy. Fires and the elements are to blame, as well as thieves who steal signs and other artifacts.

Thank you for again for writing such a great book. We have a feeling when we finally complete the entire route, we will get out the book again and travel the road some more!

First of all, thank you for your book I bought two years ago to plan our trip along Route 66. We travelled from west to east but it was still very easy to follow.
I am putting the pictures of that trip on Panoramio and Google Earth. I have just created a group called "Historic US Route 66".
It would be a great honnour if you could become a member of this group and "moderate it".

We would have been lost without purchasing EZ66!!! Words cannot express how much we love this book! Thanks so much Jerry. You helped to make our honeymoon perfect.

Hi Jerry,
My wife & I are in the middle of our 2nd trip from Chicago to LA (Our 1st trip was in Oct 2006). This trip, we have brought along my 72 y/o mother and our 2.5 y/o son(I can really sympathize with families that used to travel the full length of this great highway when it was at it's peak! J/k). We are having a great time showing my mother route 66. She grew up on the east coast & has spent most of her adult life in Indianapolis, IN. She had never gone west until I moved to San Francisco. She is having a great time taking a trip into the past.
I am saddened, however, at how much has vanished, along Route 66, sine our first trip in 2006. I really hope that everyone keeps fighting to save and restore what is left on this road. Someday our youth will appreciate this HUGE hunk of Americana that we leave for them (Yes, I truly believe that someday our kids will get off of their computer, put down their I pods, and go outside and wander across America again!).
Jerry, thanks for creating this "Route 66 Bible". Today, we are in Tulsa and tomorrow we are planning on dropping by your gallery to look at your work, and maybe if we are lucky you will put your "John Hancock" on your book for us!

Recently we were traveling 66 between Springfield, IL and St. Louis. We came upon Girard and noticed a sign for Doc's Soda Fountain & Pharmacy Museum and decided to stop (did not see it mentioned in your book). As soon as you step through the door, you are transported back in time. The soda fountain still uses all the old equipment and they hand mix all the sodas (they are very good). The Pharmacy Museum still has some of the "medicine" from the late 1800s/early 1900s in unopened boxes. They also have a small Route 66 gift shop and Lincoln Museum. It is a very neat place. We know you can't include every little place but thought this was improtant to bring to your attention. We have enjoyed our trip with you, thank you for your youthful energy in this undertaking. Keep up the good work!

Hi Jerry

My girlfired and I recently took a trip down Route 66 from Chicago to Tulsa. Over the past five years I've traveled every mile possible in Illinois but this was the first time I crossed the Mississippi. I had been wanting to pick up a copy of your EZ Guide so I bought one from Ramona at the Munger Moss after staying the night there. We actually used it more on the way home (EB) as we had to skip some areas in central MO on our way to Tulsa. Unfortunately I lost the guide after we got home. But its such a good book, I bought another copy. I'm already planning the next leg of the trip and the EZ Guide is a crucial part of that planning. Keep up the great work.
