McJerry,
Just a quick note on an EZ Guide update. Arizona Map #1, AZ-page 2 For EASTBOUND travelers, the AZDOT is working on overpasses between the Painted Desert and Sanders (Exits 311 and Exits 339). As a result, you cannot rejoin I40 Eastbound at Exit 339. So, if you have done the short paved section between Chambers (Exit 333) and Sanders (Exit 339), you must then backtrack to Chambers to rejoin I40 all the way up to Ortega Rd (Exit 341, where you CAN access the Querino Dirt Road Option).
We backtracked to Chambers after finding the on/off ramps totally under construction. Then, we decided on a whim to drive north to the Hubbell Trading Post on 191 and then took 264 acroos, rejoing Rt 66 in Gallup. So I don't know the status of the on/off ramps. Check this website from AZDOT for some updates:

Cheers & See You On the Road!

I just went through the EZ66 Guide (3rd edition) and planned a west bound bike trip from Virginia to Chicago and then to California. I will start in late April. Great information format and details. The driving range for my bike is about 150 miles on a full gas tank. While in few instances there is some information about refueling, it would be nice to add, in the 4th edition of the guide, details about functional gas stations, especially from Amarillo, TX to Barstow, CA. This would be of tremendous value to bikers.

Hi! We are taking the first half of Route 66 WB beginning Easter Sunday! We did the full thing in a week in May 2012 & boy that was too much. Anyway, we are using your book once again. I wanted to let you know of a new place called Russell's Truck & Travel Center. It's listed as a truck stop, but it's soooo much more. wwebsite: http://www.russellsttc.com/ There's a free car museum inside, as well as a cafe. The owner's of the Blue Swallow told us about it when we stayed there last summer coming back home to TX from CO. GOOD museum! Worth a stop for sure! Hope we get a chance to stop in & say hello when passing thru Chandler!

Hi -
I am going to take "the trip" in early June as a retirement present to myself. In your opinion, how much of the route can I cover in 7 to 10 days? I'll be leaving from upstate NY, near Albany, so the first day will be spent just getting to Illinois.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi, just finished riding Route 66 on a Harley Davidson, could not have done this without the EZ Guide.

Many thanks.
