Bought your book for my road trip through OK on my way to participate in the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts. Thanks for the great job, it made the trip really fun, by the way, it didn't look like you were around when I went through Chandler! There was a great auto swap meet south of Sapulpa on Fri and Sat! I was sad to see that the "old" Buffalo Ranch had been replaced by a convenience store! I was last through there 20 years ago and was hoping to update my b&w image with a new digital image, oh well! Cheers

Just started Route 66. Traveling from California to Illinois. Got your book in Barstow, so have missed all the fun of using it from Santa Monica to there. Hope you visit you when we get to Oklahoma.

Hi Jerry, well, we are home already and what a whirlwind road trip we had. Hit Route 66 on April 2 in Joliet and saw and stopped at many of the spots mentioned in your guide. The road signage was extemely good and we were able to follow it for a lot of the time. We used your guide for 'giants' and many other notable place to see. Unfortunately the Launching Pad has closed down, or we would have gone in for a snack on our travels, but we did enjoy the Palms Grill in Atlanta for a meal. Their BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich was delicious, as was the banter from the delightful lady who served us, and the friendly fellow who heard our accents and started chatting with us. All the way across Missouri was a nightmare and we didn't spend anywhere near as much time on the Mother Road as we had hoped as we ran into a severe storm that was working it's way across to St Louis. We throroughly enjoyed the scavenger hunts and finding points of interest like the Meramec Caverns ads on the barns (including the ones that were only visible by turning around in my seat to see them), Bourbon's water tower, only just visible through the heavy downpiur of rain, the Service Station in Galena, Kansas where I was able to get up close for a photo with Tow Tater, the Arcadia Round Barn in Oklahoma, among many other wonderful and memorable sights along the way. We did stop across the road from your 'place' in Oklahoma, but it appeared that you were not there and time was marching on, so we did not bother to call. Perhaps on another trip. Next time, we shall allot much more time to enjoy the road and it's nostalgia, savouring the museums and the people along the way. Cheers, thanks for providing a fabulous insight into Route 66 and some fun in the way you presented Alerts and Games etc. Dave and Shell Gray, Brisbane, Australia. :)

Jerry thank you so much for your guide. My initial plan was to use my GPS and waypoints to navigate 66 but that proved to be way too much work. My wife, Lisa, and I used EZ66 for the final 90% and it was an irreplaceable source of guidance. It was great to get to meet you and I look forward to meeting you again on our next Route 66 trip. Cheers and thanks from the Bermuda 66ers.

Gidday Jerry, just received our EZ66 Guide (3rd edition) in the post this week. Can't wait to hit the Mother Road in Chicago and head west as the second part of our US Road Trip, covering about 3800 miles in total in approximately 15 days. Hoping to stop in and say hi before we leave Route 66 at Oklahoma City to drop down into Texas to stay with friends. The guide looks great, just hope I don't miss any of the scenery/Giant Alerts/Car Games/Scavenger Hunts along the way whilst I am navigating. Cheers, Shell & Dave Gray, Brisbane, Australia.

Hi Jerry, I just want to say a big thank you for your Route 66 guide!
My wife and I set out on February 17th, flight from Manchester, England to Chicago and today (March 3rd) we have arrived in Santa Monica, LA. your guide has helped us all the way (along with the 'historic Route 66 signs - dam I love them signs when I see them - especially when I get paranoid and think I'm going the wrong way!!!!)
We have loved every step of the trip on the mother road and loved the people we have met and the places we have visited. Thanks once again, Matthew & Emma lamb, Wirral (NR Liverpool) ENGLAND.

McJerry,
Just a quick note on an EZ Guide update. Arizona Map #1, AZ-page 2 For EASTBOUND travelers, the AZDOT is working on overpasses between the Painted Desert and Sanders (Exits 311 and Exits 339). As a result, you cannot rejoin I40 Eastbound at Exit 339. So, if you have done the short paved section between Chambers (Exit 333) and Sanders (Exit 339), you must then backtrack to Chambers to rejoin I40 all the way up to Ortega Rd (Exit 341, where you CAN access the Querino Dirt Road Option).
We backtracked to Chambers after finding the on/off ramps totally under construction. Then, we decided on a whim to drive north to the Hubbell Trading Post on 191 and then took 264 acroos, rejoing Rt 66 in Gallup. So I don't know the status of the on/off ramps. Check this website from AZDOT for some updates:

Cheers & See You On the Road!

Hi, Jerry: Just read your "Lake Overholser" article penned in American Road - what a great story on R66 waterways. Love the reference to "Be Careful When Wet"! See you down "The Mother Road...Lorrie from Canada, EH!
