My father and I have talked about doing Route 66 for years. We finally got started. In November 2012, we did Chicago to Joplin. Last year was St. Louis (catching some things we missed in MO) to Albuquerque - and we added my wife as the official EZ66 navigator. She went just to help me - but enjoyed the trip so much that later just for her, she and I did a Joplin east to Chicago. Finally on May 19, 2014 the 3 of us headed out for 2 weeks - knowing it was 5 days of travel just to get to NM and then back home from California. Staying at the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas NM we started the Santa Fe Loop. 3 Harvey Houses, 2 WigWams, Oatman Burros, a full day in the Petrified Forest, Two Guns and passing 100's of BNSF trains. Then at 6:30 PST Sunday May 25th - a photo of me and my father standing under the RT66 sign on the Santa Monica Pier. It is the trip of a lifetime - and more important 4 weeks helping my father, at the age of 89, check off the biggest item on his bucket list.

Now there is a problem - my obsession self wants to go do Dirt66 etc for many more trips. And my 89 year old father - he is now talking the Lincoln highway. The Lincoln Highway had lots of information on-line - but no McJerry or an EZ guide or Here It Is maps. I cannot imagine doing Route 66 without the guide. So for helping me achieve one of the greatest thing in my life - the weeks with my father while he is still with me - I want to thank you.

Hi Jerry, Just ploughing through your guide making a few notes for our trip which we start on 17th June in Chicago. Our booking included the 'River Pilot' which I hope will compliment EZ66, I can see a few possible issues (side trips and loops which you cover so well) but hopefully we'll make it :)
Hope to see you around the 22nd if you're home. Really looking forward to it.

Jerry, just wanted to say I love your book, I drove from the mid-point to Waynesville/St. Roberts MO, during my move to Ft Leonard Wood, last fall and your book was an awesome guide, it was very helpful. I've also used it traveling to St. Louis also. Looking forward to using it to travel the western portion.

As Brian and Sue stated Devils Elbow bridge is open and the repairs are completed. They did a great job and I am glad they decided to repair it rather than replace it with a modern bridge.

Hi Jerry, In Sept./Oct. 2012 we spent 5 1/2 traveling Route 66. We started from our home on the west coast of B.C., Canada and traveled east to Chicago and then west on 66 up to the California border. This spring we did the California portion of Route 66. Thank you for your EZ Guide, it gave us so much more info than we got from the internet. We enjoyed the trek very much.

Hi Jerry. After two years of planning we will be heading to Chicago Friday to start our Rte. 66 trip. We are taking our two grandchildren (6 & 11) to show them America off the computer screen.
Hopefully we will catch you on our way through Chandler. Your EZ book has been a great help in planning the trip.
John.

We are the first travellers in a car enroute to LA to travel over Devils
Elbow Bridge today May 20th.It has been closed since last November. The folks at the post office were surprised and where delighted we had achieved fame.

Hi Jerry, we saw you in Chandler 29th April and we are now in LA having finished our amazing Route 66 adventure. Your book was our constant companion and we would not have found many interesting pieces of 'old road' without it. Your directions and David Wickline's Images of 66 made this the trip of a lifetime. We will be back in Australia in a couple of days taking many fond memories of the awesome mother road with us. Cheers from Greg and Margaret and our travelling companions Phill and Janice

Hi Jerry,
We are a couple from England about to embark on our first trip to the USA; down the entire length of route 66 (plus a couple of diversions) in the 3 weeks starting 24/05/14 (or 05/24/14 is should say!).

We have just bought the third edition of your book which looks to be full of great information and useful maps (we also have the 'here it is... route 66 8 map set).

We hope to post back to you again after the journey is over, no doubt thanking you for saving us a lot of dead-ends and missed turnings!

See you on 66!
Michael (27) & Colette (26)

Hi Jerry, It was great to meet up with you last month and to see the artwork. Your book was an absolute godsend and was easy to follow over our 3,200 mile trip from Springfield Ms to Needles Ca. We couldn't have done the trip without it. We are back in France now and really missing the feel of the open road - Route 66 certainly has some magic and we would love to come back and find the things we missed first time around. Thanks again for your hospitality.
