The route that takes you through Commerce,OK on Main Street is closed over the little bridge in town. I'm not sure why ... maybe the bridge? There was no sign of construction or other work, just "Road Closed" barricades on both ends of a two- ish block section.

Don't know if you had already been made aware of a road closure affecting Route 66 in Needles, CA. Broadway in Needles is closed with detours. I'm travelling through the area, so I'm not familiar with the streets. However, here's a website link describing the construction: https://zachnews.wordpress.com/2017/02/28/traffic-update-downtown-needles-ca-needles-jam-latest-information-west-broadway-closure/

By the way, the EZ Guide has been a terrific help on my 66 trip.

Jerry, we are planning to stop by either the 6th or 7th of June. Hope to catch you at home. We are going to be picking up where we stopped eight years ago. I do try to ride some of the Route in MO every year. Like what they have done to the Wagon Wheel in Cuba and the Boots Court in Carthage.

Carole and I will revisit Route 66 in march 18 (we met with you on our visit in
March 15)but want to travel the best "rural" stretches on a circle base. Our thoughts are
Fly in Las Vegas pick up 66 in say Flagstaff go east to around your location,
Loop lack to say Ca border then back to Las Vegas for flight back to U.K. Will we get
The bst bits in this tour which I guess is some 1500 miles. We will linger, longer
En route and plan to take 4 weeks. Will apprecIate your views. Tk u.

Just came across the site, I'm really enjoying it.
I live here on National Trails Hwy., Route 66 in Essex,CA. I want to give you an update about the route that you may not be aware of. A 12 mile stretch between Goffs Rd. and Mountain Springs, the realignment piece in 1937 is closed. Due to a bridge being out.
Five bridges were out due to a big storm in 2014. They repaired the four west of Essex, but left this one in disrepair. I have no idea why they left it. Maybe county government?
This is information only.
I'm going to continue to enjoy your site.
