Hey, Jerry.....keep up the great work! I've been on several different stretches of Route 66, but have yet to do it from start to finish. I'll make sure to add a link to this site on my blog.

Happy New Year. We met earlier this year when you were in Las Vegas, New Mexico. My wife and I are the owners of the Rawlins Building across the street from the Casteneda Hotel. We are searching for any photos of the Rawlins --- both current and in its earlier days.

Thank you and God bless.

Jerry, thank you - and Mariko - for visiting our aviation museum today - it was a pleasure to meet you both. I hope the rest of your time in Grants-Milan and New Mexico is very rewarding! Steve O.

We just got home from a full trip on Route 66 from Chicago to LA. We used your EZ guide and thank goodness we had it. We could never have kept on Rt without it!! Thank you so much for taking so much time and effort to map it out so precisely! It was truly a lifesaver and sure included everything we needed to follow the Rt. ! A million thanks to you! bTW I enjoy coloring and I colored all of the pages with drawings as we went! It was an extra little fun thing to do with the EZ guide! Thank you so much! Dear Mr. jerry McClanahan
I am a man living in Japan of the 81-year-old. This time was your EZ66 4TH ED for 12 days of the drive ROUTE66 with reference alone from Chicago to Santa Monica. ROUTE66 roadside Gas station, or the sights of the museum, or the tourism of the National Park, I got a lot of fun experience. I am interested in especially classic cars like the born automobile. Because it is like to visit the local museum. As the current plan, begining in and haunts Henrry Hord Museum of Detroit, and then drive the ROUTE66, it was the last to see the Los Angeles Pomona swap meet classic car show. I have a long time ago like to draw a picture have had a sketch travel. When the next ROUTE66 drive we would like to visit your studio. And please show me your picture.
Finally, thanks to your EZ66 4TH ED.

Thanks for these updates! I've noted quite a few changes as we've been traveling eastbound in Arizona this week.

I found your name while reading book about an elderly couple travling rt.66. I have lived in Las Vegas for 35 years, but am TN born and raised. I thought I should give a shoutout to a possible distant cousin. You have done beautiful work on Rt. 66!

I'll be starting my Route 66 journey in Barstow, ending in Flagstaff. I know, going backwards per tradition, but I live in CA.
Just purchased your book and am looking forward to using it along the way.
Will be keeping your website on my e-device for current updates.
Excited about experiencing many kicks on Route 66!

Hello Jerry,
we saw you in a documentary on German tv and bought EZ66 4th ed. as a guideline. We loved and appreciate your dedicated, tideous work which set us some beacons westbound from OKC to LA four weeks from May to June. Due to a warming-up in Chicago and detours (Arches NP, Las Vegas) we choose to alernate between mother road and interstate. We met anything between real gems with as much 66 feel as still can be and, well, less attractive touristic kitsch. Nevertheless, I had to read "Grapes of Wrath" again. Few things we wish to add to your advices:

El Reno, OK page-22: I am into aircraft modelling - the rare bomber is a A-26B Invader.
Groom, TX page-9: The tilted water tower has a very little brother. 300 ft. to the west of it is a high pole with left-overs of sign, supporting a miniature version of the water tower on it's top. PHOTO ALERT!
Albuquerque, NM page-12: European tourist might not be that familiar with American adresses. Do you want to add "SE" to 3903 Central? Absolutely Neon is even more impressive before the night sky turnes black.
Winslow, AZ page-9: I am fan of the "Eagles", so it was a touching experience beyond words. They have added a 3-D, spotless red "flat bed Ford" to the left of the Jackson Browne bronze, which is mirrored on the mural.
Meteor crater: Well, impressive - but 18 $ for a very STORMY experience at the look outs - not tooooo much to our liking, rather "business-minded".
Flagstaff, AZ page-12: The "Galaxy Diner" was a nice, nostalgic spot, dozens of black-and-white photos (music, movie) reminding of the good, old times. The attractive neon outside should not be missed! I nearly forgot: Nice food too!
Kingman: Right next to the locomotive park is the lovely Mr. D's Route 66 Diner - delicious milk shakes. Some nice neon left at: Arcadia Lodge, El Trovatore Motel and Hill Top Motel.
Some miles east of Oro Grande ont the right side is a nice, derelict "Tomahawk" gas station - very picturesque, but I missed it.

Keep up your work - many people still need to get in touch with a truly American past from (maybe) easier times. For me, our trip worked as a good, soothing time machine.

Kind regards
Andreas Weber
