WE are VERY! sorry to read that the charming Gary Turner has died. My wife and myself spent more than two wonderful hours visiting with him during our trip in 2013 as far as OK city.A great loss to the legendary Route 66 fan group. Are prints still available?

A little late in posting something up, but here goes! My daughter Emily and I flew over from Great Britain at the end of March. I was aware of EZ66 but it was too late to order before leaving and Amazon wanted a fortune for some reason. Spotted the guide for sale with Shaun at his Route 66 shop on Santa Monica Pier. A very helpful guy and recommend that anyone making it to the end goes to pay a visit. We were going east as far as Gallup NM in our Dodge Challenger R/T (courtesy of Hertz,or should that be Hurts as it was quite expensive!) via Las Vegas, Lake Havasu, Williams (train to Grand Canyon) and Monument Valley. We took in some odd sections on the way making sure to stop at the Snow Cap in Seligman but the guide was put into serious use upon leaving Gallup as it was '66 all the way back to LA. I showed Emily how to use the guide and although she's only fourteen and we were driving on the 'wrong' side of the road to what she's used to, she did very well. It was a good job I allowed plenty of time between each hotel stop as we crammed in as much of the road as possible, even driving up the dead end sections! At Meteor Crater I spotted a lady looking over a copy of EZ66 in the gift shop. I told her my experience with it and she was won over, buying it for her grandson who was '66 mad. I think we covered every gift shop in Williams and Seligman (with more Snow Cap food of course!) and enjoyed Hackberry General Store. The road from Kingman to Oatman was fantastic arriving just in time for the bank to be robbed and the inevitable shootout. We then had great fun chasing freight trains along the Goffs Road section but sadly had to resort to I40 as the road is washed away, but re-joined at Amboy with a stop at Roys Cafe. On our last day we did the loop from Barstow to Victorville where we stopped for the second time at the museum, again very highly recommended. Many thanks Jerry for a wonderful guide that I hope will be pressed into service again in the not too distant future.

Jerry,
We just finished our Rt. 66 trip in Chicago July 23, 2015 from Tucson, Arizona. The trip was awesome and your book invaluable in making our trip a complete success. It was a pleasure meeting you, we enjoyed your gallery and hospitality.

Jerry,
Just purchased your EZ66 Guide through Amazon.com, should have bought it BEFORE our trip from L.A. to Flagstaff, AZ last week. It is still interesting to read through after the trip, and will come in handy when we take our next trip on Route 66 to explore the road to the east of Flagstaff on into New Mexico.
My wife and I took the Mother Road from San Bernardino to Needles on 7/18, jumped up to Laughlin to overnight, and then picked up Route 66 driving east on AZ 68 from Bullhead city into Kingman, AZ. We drove every portion of the historic road we could from Kingman to Williams. Loved the Burmashave signs posted along the roadway throughout Arizona. Americana at its best!

Hi Jerry,
We're over from Australia and doing the route backwards, your EZ66 guide has been invaluable. We've been on the road for 13 days and having a great time, 5 to go. We called into your place today on the way through but you didn't answer. Anyway, wanted to let you know that the Rock Creek Bridge on the Ozark Trail in Sapulpa (OK page 14) is open but restricted to 4 tons and 7'2" height. We've done nearly all the side trips and have gotten to see so much more than from just following the main road. Have had to double back a few times as heading east we missed a few turns, but has all added to the adventure. Thanks.
Kind regards
Glen Burns

Greetings all,
I am planning on leaving SW Florida 7/20 driving to Las Vegas then heading back to Kingman AZ and driving East along the Route leaving Litchfield IL and ending in Michigan to visit family. I took the original 66 from Detroit in 1959 and again in 1961...Curious to see whats left of the Mother Road...Thanks to all for the updates.

Greetings traveler! We just got back this weekend from 2 weeks on the Road. Used mostly 40's configuration to hit all we could West of Rolla, Missouri. Got to meet Harvey Russell in Erick, OK along the way, so that was a special treat! Got to meet some folks from Denmark as we all got a little turned around on the Ribbon Road in Oklahoma. I think the area around Sitgreaves Pass and the folks in Oatman. I DID stop and explore Shaffer's Fish Bowl Springs in Arizona. Found a nice rock nearby to dip in the Springs and keep as my least expensive (and most treasured) souvenir of the trip. Thanks so much for your book. It made it possible for us to take this journey at our own pace, with no real destination in mind other than whatever adventure was waiting for us right around the corner. I'll send a separate email with updates regrading closed bridges and such we found along the way.

Hi Jerry, we just arrived back in Australia after doing 66 a couple of weeks ago. We are still on a high from doing the trip. We met you at the Blue Swallow and you were kind enough to sign our EZ 66 guide. Unfortunately we went to a McDonalds in LA to clarify the last bit of the drive to Santa Monica and my wife put the book down and that is the last we saw of it. Apart from you Fran and Angel signed it as well. We are so disappointed but are attempting to get another copy from Fran in Adrian. If that doesn't pan out, I will have to make other arrangements.

Hey Jerry-
My buddies and I are traveling the Mother Road from Chicago to Santa Monica this October in our '48 Pontiac Silver Streak. It is being made road worthy as I write. Have read your EZ Guide from cover to cover in preparation for our trip. Thank you for all the insightful and detailed information- it will be indespensible to us on our adventure. I first made the trip as a 6 yr old when our family moved from KS to CA in our '53 Ford in 1955. We started in Garden City, drove south to Amarillo, then west to CA. Since we basically started in the middle of R66, I count that as having only made half the journey. These many years later we'll cover the whole route. Hoping to meet you as we drive through Chandler. See you then.
