Will be taking Route 66 from Chicago to LA starting on April 1st (2018) from Chicago. No schedule after that. Still working out plans on likely places to stop. Expect the trip will be 2.5 weeks.

This book is amazing, it was the best guide to 66. I can’t wait to do it again. JERRY is the nicest person on the road. If you can make it to his office. Do it!!

When my parents dragged me from Pittsburgh Pa in 1964 to the mysterious land of California after roasting in the desert with a water bag attached to the radiator of our car, we ran out of gas in Barstow during a raging sandstorm and pulled into a Whiting Brothers gas station and asked for gas and directions. The attendant didn't give us either and my Father pumped his own gas and we left. We saw those long yellow signs all the way across from Missouri or Oklahoma and stopped in several before Barstow. The sandstorm was so powerful it literally stripped all the paint off of our car. We eventually went north to stay with my Father's friends in Sonoma and set up permanent residence in San Francisco across the street from the Presidio of San Francisco on Greenwich Street. I was 12 at the time.

Enjoyed meeting you in September at your gallery! Made it all the way to Santa Monica Pier and back to Tennessee after visiting grandchildren in San Diego. We could not have followed the route without your guide!

We just did the first half Chicago to Mid Point Cafe (literally got back home to AL 1 1/2 hours ago). Your guide was invaluable. Stopped by to see you on the way past - hated to have missed you. You may already have been updated (100 times, or maybe not at all) but Mid Point Cafe is closed. We are going to do the second half in a year or two, so I’m hoping someone picks up the spatula and opens it back up. Again, couldn’t have made the trip if we didn’t have ‘you’ in the car with us all the way!! Worth every penny!!

Hi Jerry, over from uk and have just completed a journey from Seattle to St Louis, then picked up 66 and went to the end using EZ66 as my bible. Now back in Seattle recalling where I have been and how easy your guide made it all. Can I offer one suggestion, could there be say 4or5 blank pages in the back of the guide for recording personal notes as you go.

Finished our Route 66 trip back in May, 2017. We started in Santa Monica and headed east to Chicago. The EZ guide was great, indispensable, but I sure wish the book had been oriented west to east. Have you given any thought to publishing a companion guide for eastbounders?

Great guidebook - I have been studying it cover to cover, making plans for a route 66 run in Spring 2018.
I have a comment on page CA-18 regarding the Giant Orange Stands. The stand in Fontana is not the last of the Giant Oranges. There are several still open for business (most under other names), including Mark's Hot Dogs here in San Jose. Others are closed but not yet torn down, and still others have been "repurposed". For more details, go to "http://www.weirdca.com/location.php?location=134", or just Google "giant orange california".

Hi Jerry, Great to meet up with you at your gallery last month. We are now back home in Midhurst, West Sussex in the UK and would just like to say a sincere, big "Thank You" for all the help that "EZ-66" provided on our West-East Route 66 travels this time. Thanks also for the detour details to circumnavigate the Carthage area's bridges' reconstruction - great advice! Don't know how we would have successfully become Road Warriors twice now without your "Here It Is!" maps and aforementioned guide! Thanks seems somewhat inadequate. All good wishes, George & Carmel Martin
