Tucker '48 at Odell Station
View larger image Recently sold to Mr Akio Takeuchi of Osaka, Japan ( Prints on 13 x 19" paper are available at $50 EACH (plus shipping) This 20" x 24" watercolor commemorates my ride down about 10 miles of Route 66 in a rare 1948 Tucker! I had met the owners who were exhibiting this magnificent auto at the Rock n Rods event in Pontiac Illinois. They liked my suggestion that they drive it north to Odell Illinois to pose it in front of the restored Standard station on Route 66. Most Tucker owners won't let you touch their cars, so when I was offered the chance for a ride, I didn't have to think twice. SOLD |

"Standard Station, Sayre, OK"
View larger image Oil on canvas 21" x 36" A typical scene at a typical Route 66 gas station in Sayre, OK. One of my specialties is incorporating "toothy" close ups of fifties cars in the foreground of Route 66 scenes. As in this case, I enjoy meticulously "restoring" classic Route 66 settings to their orignal appearance, through old photos and postcards. Price: SOLD ( for $5,000) to a Japanese collector. (prints on 13x19" paper are STILL AVAILABLE at $50 each (plus shipping). Contact me directly for details or to purchase. |
