I grew up on Route 66 in Missouri 1 mile east of Abatross. A Gulf station and "Sandstone Cafe". Hope to stop and talk and bring a couple of pictures. The memories of the traffic, people I met, and the sound of the colorful pennants popping in the wind are always in my mind and heart.....

Read the entire updated guide cover to cover and will be setting out westward on 66 beginning July 5th from Lincoln, IL. This is the second trip (first was in July 2007). I was using a different and very confusing guidebook that time. After your book, I feel so much more prepared and cannot wait to get the most out of the trip.

You are right about one thing. You never do this trip just once!

Great guide. I picked up the latest copy from Laurel Kane at the Afton Station today. I will be making an end to end ride of the route in September to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This will be my second ride, and your guide will help me find the stuff I missed last year.

It's 7:30 am in San Bernadino, California. I am drinking coffee in my Wigwam planning out the final day of my Route 66 journey. Your EZ Guide book has ridden shotgun and provided wise and insightful guidance throughout the trip. The Mother Road is fortunate to have you as a friend and advocate.

Thanks for posting updates on the Rock Cafe. I started my drive of Route 66 less than a week after it had a fire. Was really looking forward to stopping in.... hopefully next year when I drive it again.

Hi Jerry,
I am a French reporter, based in NY, for France's largest newsweekly. I am flying this Monday (March 16) to LA, to travel Route 66 all the way for a story on America in the (new) Depression. I would very much like to meet you when in Oklahoma. Also, I just discovered that the EZguide had been reprinted (I only have the Map series), is there any way I can buy it somewhere in LA or elsewhere on the way ? Many thanks, Philippe Boulet
